KlitePro supports a slicker front end on their web page than some of the other 'barely legal' websites, where you are enticed to sign up. They don't just sell you a bittorrant clone and hang you out to dry; the tech support e-mail address appears to be a valid one, and they tell you up front they are a file sharing service. They also have a member's section where they will recommend other software for you to try and use as well. You can also sign up to download movies and games, in addition to the music, for an additional cost.
The software you get has a built in media player, although the FAQ page recommends Windows Media 7. (Mac software is also available.)
The home page has a flash demo you can watch, but it's not that informative. Unlike AllGreatMusic.com and some of the other blatent ripoffs, they don't claim that all their songs are 100% legal; they actually tell you in their TOS that it's up to you to NOT download any coprighted material.
Tech support consists of a single e-mail link. Period. No phone number, no on-line real time chat, not anything except a single, solitary e-mail link that looks like a good target for some stupid spammer to harvest and add to their list. Your request might get lost in the tons of crud I'm sure they get.
Their TOS (Terms Of Service) state that you, and you alone, are sponsible for any copyright laws you 'might' break, and that all of their software is either freeware or shareware.
The domain is registered to a 'John-michael Jones', 875 E Camino Real, Boca Raton, FL 33432, (561) 492-5565, and an e-mail address of john_michael_jones@yahoo.com. This might actually be a real person, but I didn't waste a long-distance call or send them my e-mail address to find out. Here's the link to their TOS if you would prefer to check it out for yourself: http://klitepro.com/terms.asp
One smiley, for the software and for being more creative on the front end than some of the other sites that charges you for otherwise free software.
The news groups indicate this is a form of Kazaa Lite. Since I didn't waste my money finding out, I can only go with what my research found.
If you aren't going for one of the more expensive 'big boys' such as Napster or Real Rhapsody, but want a litle more than a generic form of KaZaa and don't mind spending some cash, then KlitePro may be a better than average choice. Personally, I'm willing to spend the money on Napster, but then again I'm not on a college student's budget, either.

This is the intro screen you get when you first arrive at the site. The Join Now, Music, Movies, and Games buttons all take you to the same sign up page. The Members button takes you to the log in screen, of course. There is also a 'faq' button, and a 'Contact Us' one as well.
The Flash demo of the service has very little information, but does let you know that there are '30,000,000' songs available.
The first step to signing up is to give them your e-mail address. Once they have it, even if you don't complete the sign up process, they still have your e-mail address. Notice that by default you are giving them permission to spam you.
At step two they offer a group of 'bonuses' that expire at Midnight on whatever day you show up at. Don't worry about missing this deadline as it will change if you don't join but go back a week later. You also choose which 'plan' you want to use.
When you make your selection, and click either the credit card or on-line check button, you are taken to ClickBank where you can complete your transaction. (Clickbank transactions are among the safest on the planet.)
The entire support department consists of the e-mail address 'support@klitepro.com.
This is the 'FAQ' page. It doesn't give much information. The questions and answers are fairly generic without giving any information that might get them into trouble for misleading their customers.
